Welcome to The Vineyard! We are a new church being started by long-time Freeland residents. We're currently in what we call "Pre-Launch" status. We meet every Sunday @ 2:30 PM. Our doors are open for guests so if you're just curious or seeking a fresh encounter with God, we welcome you!
Our first Core Group gathering (Sept. 2022).
Christmas Tree Decorating Outreach at Stone Crest Assisted Living in Freeland (November, 2022).
PLAN YOUR VISIT
We meet at 2:30 PM every Sunday at the Church of God (7th Day) Building at the corner of Freeland and River Roads (11246 W. Freeland Rd.)
WHAT TO EXPECT
We are a "come as you are" church, so there is no need to "dress up". Our service lasts a little over one hour followed by a time of light refreshments.
We provide a children's activity downstairs during each meeting.
We're currently renting space at the Church of God (7th Day) for our gatherings and are currently exploring other building options that will meet our growing needs.
WHAT A WEEKLY GATHERING LOOKS LIKE
WORSHIP
We set aside 20-25 minutes to exercise praise and thankfulness through song and other offerings.
FAMILY LIFE
We take 2-3 minutes for connecting and directing the community through announcements and testimonies.
COMMUNION
We take about 5-10 minutes to participate in the Lord's Supper. We offer open communion and do not require church membership. All are welcome to come to the Lord's table.
TEACHING
We share 25-30 minutes of instruction and encouragement with personal stories, relevant scripture and challenging practical applications.
"NATURALLY" SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY
We close by making space to listen for God’s real-time voice and to share His presence in prayer and healing. We don't "hype" things up, but simply listen for the leading of the Holy Spirit to help people experience healing, deliverance, or whatever God wants to do.
FELLOWSHIP
We follow each of our meetings with light refreshments and snacks as we get to know one another and come together as a church family.
NOTE: We are grateful to the Church of God for allowing us to rent their worship space. We are actively looking for a larger, more updated space, but we trust that God will provide when the right time comes.
“I never understood why going to church made you a hypocrite. Because nobody goes to church because they are perfect. If you’ve got it all together, you don’t need to go. You can go jogging with all the other perfect people on Sunday morning. Every time you go to church you’re confessing again to yourself, to your family, to the people you pass on the way there, to the people who greet you there, that you don’t have it all together. And that you need their support. You need their direction. You need some accountability. You need some help.”
- Rich Mullins
VALUES:
We are a church that is:
Jesus Centered
Jesus is at the center of everything we are as a Church and, being sent by Jesus, we are to replicate and multiply the joy of living the Jesus-shaped life.
Spirit Empowered
We embrace the fruit, gifts, and empowerment of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Scripture and testified throughout the history of Christianity.
Biblically Guided
Everything we do is guided by a responsible understanding and application of the Scriptures.
Community Enriching
We aim to enrich our community by being givers not takers, helpers not hinderers, and by lifting up those who have been let down.
Joy Multiplying
We aim to plant new campuses and churches in order to continue the historical and worldwide mission of sharing the joy that comes from knowing and walking with Jesus.
